This indigo girl combines three vintage japanese cotton pieces, collected while in Okinawa, Japan. Ranging in age from 75 - 100 years old, she features solid inidigo, katazome, and kasuri. Original threads have been left intact. A black ribbon loop allows for her to be hung on the wall. She stands just shy of 17 inches in height. Her face is hand embroidered with cotton thread. Her body is stuffed with thoughtfully sourced wool, giving her a nice weight. Her buns are stuffed with Polyfiber, keeping them light and plush.
Indigo - a natural plant dye
Katazome - An artist creates a stencil to which a dye resistant paste is applied over and onto cloth. The cloth then goes through the dye process. After this process and the paste is removed, a beautiful and intricate pattern is revealed.
Kasuri - A traditional folk textile, woven to create slightly blurry patterns.

She comes with a signed certificate of authenticity and a small gift. A small token of my appreciation for your support of my work.
Care: Spot clean with a clean damp rag. Placement in direct sunlight is not recommended, as it will cause fading over time.
